At the North Regina Hockey Camp, we believe a strong season doesn’t happen by accident — it’s built through conditioning, preparation, and confidence. With small class sizes, 12 full hours of ice time, and instruction from experienced coaches, your child steps into the season ready, sharpened, and excited to play.
Founded in 1973, the camp grew from a partnership among the Normanview, Coronation Park, Regent Park, Uplands, and Argyle Park Community Associations. What began as a community initiative has evolved into a long‑standing Regina hockey tradition.
Our program is designed for boys and girls who want to develop their skills in a supportive, structured environment. Players receive specialized instruction from qualified coaches who focus on age‑appropriate skill development, including:
Born in 1957 in Vibank, Saskatchewan, Barry Wolbaum has spent his life combining his three greatest passions: children, hockey, and teaching. Barry left Vibank in 1974 to attend St. Francis Xavier University in Antigonish, Nova Scotia, where he played for the St. Francis Xavier X‑MEN from 1975–1978. His dedication earned him the Most Improved Player award in 1975–76, and he helped the X‑MEN capture the Atlantic Championship in both the 1975–76 and 1977–78 seasons. After completing his undergraduate studies, Barry earned a Bachelor of Education (Mathematics) from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario. He returned to Regina and has spent over 40 years teaching Math and English in the Regina Catholic School Division. Barry is a proud father of two adult children and grandfather to two boys. His life’s work reflects his commitment to youth, sport, and education — a legacy felt across Regina’s hockey community.
